Departure Day/Night/Morning

     Good news! Kelly has completed the pre-trip "Quad-fecta"... Hair, Nails, Pedicure and Packing so she has now officially declared that she is ready..... we are on our way! 

Kris picked us up and took us to the Victoria Airport for our short flight to Vancouver on a Q400. We came over early just in case the weather or some other transportation problem cropped up. This even allowed us to grab a... gasp...  Ferry if need be!  We checked in and cleared security with only a minor "Kelly brought small scissors" delay... all good.

Pre-departure at CYYJ - Spinnikers Brew Pub

 While enjoying a drink, we have been advised by my AC app that our flight to Sydney is delayed until 01:15 so we will have lots of time in YVR.

The flight over was quick and uneventful and to help while away the hours in Vancouver, we headed for the AC Executive Lounge for some dinner/snacks and a beverage before boarding. We found a nice spot with a great view of the big screen and settled in.  Hey... playoff hockey is on!!

Kelly went off to the shops while I watched the Boston Bruins handily win their playoff game against Toronto. I also received numerous Air Canada App updates on our delayed flight... now 01:40... then 02:10, 02:55 and now 03:35 am! The plane is basically stuck in Toronto in a snow storm and the rolling delays are a result. Looks like I won't miss any NHL action tonight!

It's 20:15 here now and I'll update tomorrow morning when we get on the flight.
