Due to weather issues in Toronto the flight finally arrived into Vancouver at 3am. Refueled, cleaned and a new crew loaded, we got to our seats at 04:30. We could feel the excitement as the captain announced it would be 30º in Sydney!!
Let’s get this baby off the ground! Pushed back @ 04:53 and airborne @ 05:10 Dinner served @ 05:40 😄 yep... we are all messed up now let me tell you!
Sleep came quick and although the sun was up the whole plane was dark with every sun shade drawn down. It remained that way for almost the whole trip.
Had a visit from Bob Jansch, one of the First Officers on the flight. We flew together back in the AirBC days and he wanted to make sure we were comfortable.
For added comfort we purchased Premium Economy seats for the 16+ hour flight to Sydney. (Had these seats on our Zurich flight in 2015 and really liked the extra legroom and amenities.) If you have insomnia this morning you could track the flight on Flight Aware under Air Canada Flight 33.
Arrival is scheduled for approximately 12:00ish on Monday as we skip ahead a day crossing the International Date Line. This will depend on en route weather deviations and winds aloft. Bring on the heat!!
